@VC Circle: Holiday packages has been unveiled by the deals portal of Jasper Innovative Marketing Solutions’ Snapdeal. It also has discount offers on restaurants, movie tickets, beauty and health packages, lifestyle products and entertainment. The company feels that the online travel agencies (OTAs) have 10% distress inventory which the OTAs need to liquidate and Snapdeal is aiming to help the OTAs to recover costs on their perishable inventory with deals. An agreement has been signed between Makemytrip and Jasper Innovative Marketing Solutions. It is also in discussion with other players in the online travel industry.
The holiday packages include services like flight ticketing and hotel bookings which are in line with the services offered by the OTAs. The company’s objective is to become one-stop- shop solution for holiday packages as it is working with the property owners, local tour operators as well as national travel operators like Makemytrip etc.
While the company’s product offering include both low-end to high-end packages, domestic and international locations such as Maldives but the prime focus will be on regional level, short vacations, weekend getaways for 3-4 days. It has presence across 30 cities.
