World Bank’s private equity arm IFC has announced an equity investment of INR 2.9 bn in solar energy services provider Sun Edison. The money will be utilized for the development and construction of SunEdison’s photovoltaic power projects in South Asia (including India), South East Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. As a part of the transaction IFC will be acquiring 15% stake in two holding companies of Sun Edison LLC in Singapore and Netherlands.
